We hate to burst your bubble – it’s NOT normal. Symptoms of digestive distress are usually indicators that there is a malfunction somewhere in their system. Your digestive system is essentially a long tube that starts at your mouth and ends at the other end. But this system (like all others) is efficient only when it functions normally.

Many children and adults, however, suffer from a malfunction of the digestive system. In fact, the three most common conditions affecting intestinal function are (1) irritable bowel syndrome, (2) ulcerative colitis and (3) Crohn’s disease.

Your nervous system runs your whole body and all of its functions: your immune system, heart, healing ability, and, of course, your digestive system. All of these function under direct orders from the nervous system. If there is interference within the nervous system, your body will simply not work properly.

We call this interference a subluxation, and a subluxation that caused this scope of damage has usually become a bad habitual pattern the body has learned.  A chiropractor will, in all likelihood, place this patient on an intensive schedule of care in order to get a handle on this “bad habit” as quickly as possible.  We are actually changing neural programming with the intent of restoring normal body function.  For these patients, seeing a chiropractor is crucial for success.
